Recognizing Baptist Health La Grange for quality, expertise and cost efficiency in delivery specialty maternity care, Blue Cross Blue Shield Association recently awarded the George & Beverly Rawlings Women’s Center with the Blue Distinction Centers + award for 2017.

“This designation shows the commitment our delivering physicians and Mother and Baby care team have to providing our patients with the highest level of quality and care.” said Nathan Wilson, vice president and chief nursing officer at Baptist Health La Grange. “Our staff has worked hard this past year caring for patients while also going through a major renovation of the Women’s Center and this award only supports their dedication to quality, compassionate care.”

Blue Distinction Specialty Care is a national designation program that recognizes hospitals for delivering quality specialty care safely and effectively, based on objective measures developed with input from the medical community. With nearly four million babies born each year in the United States, childbirth is the most common reason for hospitalization. Prospective parents who search the Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Distinction website will now find Baptist Health La Grange listed among its designated providers.

The newly-renovated George & Beverly Rawlings Women’s Center includes an expanded nursery, two new OB triage rooms for monitoring expectant mothers, all-private post-partum rooms and Labor/Delivery suites with updated furnishings and décor, new operating room for C-section procedures, dedicated lactation room and expanded family waiting areas.
