HMH's new North Hardin County location improves patient experience and access to care
Unique Internal Medicine and Pediatrics practice expands, co-locates with Therapy and Sports Medicine services
Radcliff, Ky. – Hardin Memorial Health (HMH) officials debuted the new offices of its Internal Medicine and Pediatrics practice and its new Therapy and Sports Medicine location at a Hardin County Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting today.
The offices are co-located in newly renovated space at the Nature Trail Medical Plaza on KY. 313 or Joe Prather Highway.
“As our region grows, so grows HMH,” said Dennis Johnson, HMH President and CEO. "This expansion brings top physicians and providers and high-demand services together for the whole family, in one easy and larger location.”
Johnson added that while patients from Radcliff, Vine Grove and Meade County are the closest to all the benefits in this new office, patients from Elizabethtown and across Central Kentucky also have easy access to the growing Internal Medicine and Pediatrics practice via Patriot Parkway.
The two physicians, Amanda Chism, M.D. and Bethany Haynes, M.D., are board certified in both internal medicine and pediatrics. A third physician who is also board certified in both specialties is slated to join the team later this year. Internal medicine specializes in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of adult medical conditions while pediatrics manages the healthcare for infants, children and adolescents.
HMH’s Vice President and Chief Population Health Officer, Jody Prather, M.D. said that there are only six Internal Medicine and Pediatrics practices in Kentucky.
“Being board certified in both medicine and pediatrics gives Dr. Chism, Dr. Haynes and their future partners a very special skill set,” said Prather. “This dual certification means they can care for patients at all stages of life and for entire families in one practice.”
The group was previously located just across Ky. 313 adjacent to HMH’s CareFirst facility, but had outgrown its space. The new space is nearly four times the size of the previous location and will also soon feature onsite Xray and laboratory services for patient convenience.
Other features at the new location include an interactive play area with floor touchpad in the well waiting room as well as a lactation room and consultant available for nursing mothers.
“We are excited to serve patients in a facility designed especially for them, and when someone needs therapy, including children, they can receive at our Nature Trail Plaza,” said Dr. Amanda Chism.
Previously co-located with the HMH CareFirst in Radcliff, the new Therapy and Sports Medicine Location provides physical, occupational, hand and speech therapy services as well as comprehensive pediatric services. HMH
Director of Rehabilitation Services Dan Martin said the new space will allow HMH to add staff and serve even more patients.
“As demand for advanced outpatient therapy services grows, HMH wants to provide that therapy close to home,” said Martin.
The new offices combined encompass nearly 21,000 square feet. HMH officials said there is an additional 9,300 square feet of space available at the plaza to accommodate additional growth.
