Baptist Health Paducah will offer a free breakfast seminar for men from 7 to 8 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, during Prostate Cancer Awareness Week in the Carson-Myre Heart Center auditorium.

Physicians Michael Knox, MD, Donald Spicer, MD, and Matthew Young, MD, from the Baptist Health Medical Group Urology Group, will discuss men’s health issues, including prostate cancer and symptoms of an enlarged prostate.

The first 50 registrants – 40 to 70 years old, not under an urologist’s care and not previously screened – also may sign up for a free baseline prostate screening. Register by leaving a message at 270.777.4545.

One in every six men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in his lifetime. According to Baptist Health urologists, a physical exam and simple blood test to establish a baseline PSA (prostate-specific antigen) score helps decrease prostate cancer mortality by 44 percent.
