Baptist Health Foundation Paducah will announce the first-ever comprehensive capital campaign in the 64-year history of Baptist Health Paducah during a celebration at 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, in the Larry Barton Atrium.
The “Celebrating Miracles, Transforming Lives” campaign seeks to raise funds to advance the mission of the hospital with a focus on four areas – Cancer Care, Mother & Baby Care, Cardiac Care and Outreach – to improve the health of the community, according to William A. Brown, hospital president.
Campaign co-chairs are former Kentucky Gov. Martha Layne Collins, radiation oncologist Peter Locken, MD, Strawberry Hills Pharmacy co-owner Daniel Jones and retired cardiologist Patrick Withrow, MD, now serving as the hospital’s outreach director.
“The foundation is calling on the community to help us continue our Christ-centered mission of providing outstanding healthcare to this region,” said Collins, the foundation’s executive-in-residence. “The hospital serves best when we work side-by-side, neighbor helping neighbor. Our staff vows to treat each patient like family because that’s what we are.”
Brown said community support has been vital to the hospital’s success since it opened in 1953.
“Baptist has responded to that support by being a healthcare leader in the region,” Brown said. “Over the years, our services have grown, our buildings have expanded and our technology has advanced to meet the changing health needs. We are poised to forge ahead to celebrate more milestones, but we need the region’s help to reach our greatest potential as a healthy community.”
Plans for capital projects will be detailed at the event.
