(Tuesday, March 29): Baptist Health Richmond and the Richmond Area Arts Council (RAAC) have entered into a partnership to bring more local artwork to the hospital. The RAAC will facilitate the purchase and installation of works of art from regional artists to continue to enhance the healing environment at the hospital.

Baptist Health Richmond has created a facility that promotes healing through quality care and this partnership will create a surrounding environment that not only enhances the patient’s experience, but also represents the people, landscapes, flora and fauna that makes patients feel at home.

Baptist Health values the unique qualities of our region and the surrounding area. The vibrant arts community, great natural beauty, cultural diversity, spiritual engagement, reverence for the past and optimism for the future are qualities that Baptist Health seeks to incorporate into the healing environment.

Regional artists from Madison County and the service area are invited to submit their best work for consideration for purchase. A committee of RAAC and Baptist Health representatives will review and select work that meets the guidelines and fits within the project budget. They will take into consideration the selections made by the community via the Baptist Health Richmond Facebook page. Online voting will begin on April 25. Artwork will be purchased for the hallways, patient rooms, lobbies, dining area and other public spaces.

How to submit:

  • Notify RAAC of your intent to submit your artwork by emailing the Richmond Area Arts Council at Debbie@artsinrichmond.org or calling 859.624-.4242. Please include your name, contact information, county of residence and your artistic medium.
  • Drop off artwork and forms at Richmond Area Arts Council from noon to 6 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2016. Follow signs from the front parking lot beside Central Bank in Richmond. Please call the RAAC to make other arrangements.
