10.3 McKesson Upgrade Downtime Advance Notice

To improve information technology performance and ultimately the care we provide our patients, Baptist Health System is upgrading to the Electronic Health Records latest version. This will take place during a 24-hour period beginning Saturday, March 3rd with the go live scheduled for Sunday March 4th.

Physicians will not have access to the physician web page, and there will not be any computer entry available during this time. Super-user training support will be provided in the week prior to upgrade and hospital staff will be available to assist you should you have questions.

Baptist Health System is committed to constant improvement in quality and safety. This upgrade is one way we are pursuing ever higher standards by taking steps toward implementing Medicare and Medicaid Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Programs. These programs provide incentives for the "Meaningful Use" of certified EHR technology to achieve improved quality and patient safety. Benefits include: reduction in errors, availability of records and data, reminders and alerts, and clinical decision support.

We appreciate your support during this brief downtime. More details will be provided as the scheduled upgrade date approaches. In the meantime, if you have questions, please contact your hospital CMO or Paul Veregge, MD, Chief Medical Information Officer for Baptist Health System.
