Breast Cancer Navigator

Andrea Kassem is the breast nurse navigator at the Baptist Breast Center. Kassem is an oncology certified nurse who offers support and education to diagnosed breast cancer patients. She is the single point of contact for patients, family members, physicians and caregivers.

“As a nurse navigator, I help patients and their families understand their cancer diagnosis and treatments,” Kassem says. “I am here to help them understand where we go from here.” The goal of this service is to provide guidance, education and support throughout the continuum of care to survivorship.

“I am here to make this overwhelming time more manageable and less frightening.” Most importantly, Kassem says “ Having a nurse navigator allows the patient to focus on their health and healing and I can take care of all the other details.”
